Elizabeth Murphy MBE

The Beacon of Hope is a registered charity providing immediate comfort and on going practical and nursing support to people with terminal and life limiting illness in Ceredigion, South Gwynedd and West Powys.Our dedicated staff and volunteers work in the community out of offices in Aberystwyth, Cardigan and Machynlleth and aim to enable people to live the best quality of life in the time they have left. Elizabeth Murphy, founded the Beacon of Hope Charity in 2000.
In HM the Queen’s birthday honours list 2008, Elizabeth was awarded the MBE in recognition of her services to the community.

2000The Beacon of Hope founded the Cysurfan services.
2004The Beacon of Hope opened the Cardigan Office.
2006The Beacon of Hope was awarded the Queens' award
2007Hospice at Home service was founded, employing two Beacon of Hope nurses
Elizabeth Murphy was made a member of the Paul Harris Fellowship as a non Rotarian
2008Elizabeth Murphy is awarded an MBE for her services.
